Cinnamon is an excellent spice which is well-known for maintaining glucose level and improving insulin sensitivity in type II diabetic patients as stated in a study published in the ‘Proceedings of the Nutrition Society’ journal. I have been a fan for a few months now and refer your site to anyone and everyone looking to make improvements in their lives, so thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and efforts! It has really helped me to get to a place I have been aiming for…I am just finishing up this detox/ cleanse and wanted to give some feed back. First, I loved the ease of the menu items. I have come to realize that eating right takes time and thought. You have to be prepared. So I made a shopping list and actually sent my hubby to the store! I love the morning tea. I have only recently started drinking tea and have acquired an affinity for the green tea with jasmine. The lemon adds a little zing that I enjoy just that much more! I made the soup first and then the quinoa salad with balsamic dressing. Both were better than I could have hoped for. I did not experience hunger pangs or cravings that first day and was super excited to hit the gym and still be going strong by the time I picked the kids up from school around 4 pm. I usually want a nap from 2-4 pm. I have been reading others’ posts and it seems I am an anomaly in that the first night I experienced a pretty significant bout of insomnia. I finally fell into a fitful rest around 4 am. Tried a different smoothie the second day and it too is something I will use over and over again. The lack of sleep didn’t seem to affect me all that much throughout the day and into the evening. I didn’t have as much trouble falling asleep but could have easily stayed up later. And today, here it is almost 11pm and I am still up…heading to bed shortly though. I feel great and wanted to thank you again! I am actually thinking about staying away from gluten and meat and most dairy for a bit longer. Blessing to you and your family for a fantastic 2013!
Chlorella: is a blue-green algae superfood that contains high levels of chlorophyll, which is one of the greatest nutrients for cleansing the bowel and other elimination systems, such as the liver and the blood. Chlorella contains amino acids, enzymes (including pepsin for digestion), vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates; and, RNA and DNA, the building blocks of life. Chlorella is comprised of a fibrous, indigestible outer shell that has been proven to actually bind with pesticides like PCBs and heavy metals like mercury. Chlorella helps to remove metabolic wastes in tissues and provides support to the liver.
The second is a food addiction quiz. Do you eat when you’re not hungry? Experience a food coma after eating? Feel bad about your eating habits or avoid certain activities because of your eating? Get withdrawal symptoms if you cut down or stop eating sugar or flour? Need more and more of same bad foods just to feel good?
Broccoli is a member of the cruciferous vegetable family, which includes other veggies such as Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, and bok choy. What makes this class of veggies unique is the high levels of sulfur-containing compounds known as glucosinolates. Perhaps better known for their potential anticancer effects, these compounds may also have a role in reducing heart disease risk and heart-related deaths. In best diabetes detox study reported in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2011, researchers found that cruciferous vegetable consumption was associated with a reduced risk of death from heart disease. Their recommendation: “Increase consumption of vegetables, particularly cruciferous vegetables and fruit, to promote cardiovascular healthy and overall longevity.”
Garfield, I’m sorry to hear this. It’s terrible when you have to decrease your quality of life because of disease. Give me some details about your condition and also what you’ve heard from your doctors. If we can get more specific, I’ll be able to help you better.
Lymphatic vessels are situated intricately alongside blood vessels, relying upon body movement to move the lymph fluid around to collect and drain away toxins and dead bacteria through the lymph nodes and skin (pores).
Data of one study suggests that ginger and garlic are insulinotropic (9) rather than hypoglycemic while overall anti-diabetic effects of ginger are better than those of garlic, at least in this experimental condition. Much better anti-diabetic effects of ginger and garlic may be obtained when feeding is with a normal rather than a high fat containing diet. (10)
Even modest weight loss can reduce the risk factors for heart disease and diabetes. There are many approaches to dieting and many claims for great success with various fad diets. They include calorie restriction, low-fat/high-fiber, or high protein and fat/low carbohydrates.
Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) generally occur in people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes taking insulin or other blood sugar-lowering medications. Researchers said more than 100,000 serious hypoglycemia episodes occur each year.

As the toxins and acid waste accumulate in the cells, blood, tissues, and organs, they trigger an increase in inflammation/oxidation, the formation of pathogenic bacteria, fungus and mold, and lead to a state of poisoning commonly referred to as toxicity.
