Kale (and spinach) contains two pigments, lutein and zeaxanthin, that are beneficial for eye health. According to Harvard’s School of Public Health, sunlight, cigarette smoke, air pollution, and infections can cause free radicals to form. These two pigments seem to snuff out free radicals before they can harm the eyes’ sensitive tissues. They also appear to be protective against cataracts.
Constantly overeating the wrong kinds of foods over the years is the main risk factor for developing type II diabetes. Overeating (or gluttony) causes insulin resistance. These people need very large amounts of insulin to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
Vegetable juices (raw): such as Brussels sprouts and string beans are believed to contain specific phytonutrients that stimulate the insulin receptors increasing insulin sensitivity and lowering insulin resistance.
Red peppers are actually green peppers that have been allowed to ripen on the vine longer. They’re loaded with nutrients, including the antioxidants vitamin C and beta-carotene. Like other red fruits and vegetables, red peppers deliver a healthy dose of lycopene. Vitamins A and C, along with lycopene, promote good health and reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In fact, in the NIH’s eating guide for seniors, red sweet peppers are listed as one of four veggies with the highest amounts of antioxidants; the others are spinach, carrots, and tomatoes.
The high levels of glucose in the blood and the accumulation of acids in the kidneys cause the formation of kidney stones and ultimately cause kidney cells to die. Because kidney cells cannot be regenerated or repaired, the remaining cells have to work that much harder to filter substances from the blood.
After prayer it came to me that my body was in such a weakened condition that I needed for a period of time to live on a liquid diet and that is what I am doing and it is working for me. It has not been easy…and every once in a while I will eat some cheese (organic).
Vitamin C: Take Vitamin C, which helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins. However, avoid synthetic Vitamin C and get your vitamin C from vegetables and fruits or a wholefood supplement such as camu camu berry. A teaspoon of camu camu berry has 10 times the amount of Vitamin C of an orange! Add it to your juice or green smoothie in the morning.
As with any change in diet, it is recommended that before beginning the cleanse & detox you check with your doctor. If you are allergic to any ingredients do not include them in your cleanse. You may use an alternative.

For diabetics who are eating properly and exercising, their toxic load may be less, but, it may still affect their liver and other organs.
Citrus fruits like grapefruits, lemons, and limes are among the most commonly used ingredients for detox diets. They contain high vitamin C levels which helps the body detoxify naturally. Its natural antioxidant properties also help boost the immune system, improve proper absorption of iron, and process collagen in the body.
A low-carbohydrate diet or low GI diet can be an effective dietary option for managing type 2 diabetes. These have been promoted as working by reducing spikes in blood sugar levels after eating. However, the main contribution may be that overweight and obese people with Type 2 diabetes often lose weight while following these diets. Any diet that causes significant weight loss in overweight and obese people with Type 2 diabetes is associated with improvements in blood sugar control.
Start with realistic goals. When overweight people achieve even modest weight loss they reduce risk factors in the heart. Ideally, overweight patients should strive best diabetes detox 7% weight loss or better, particularly people with type 2 diabetes.

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be gluten- and dairy-free, I would have laughed and then served up a huge lasagna. This Italian American practically has pasta running through her veins — which likely contributed to my current health dilemma.
Pasta with meatballs: Toss 1 c cooked whole grain pasta in garlic and 1 Tbsp olive oil and garlic. Top with 3-oz lean meat balls (made with turkey, chicken or soy) and 1 tsp grated Parmesan cheese. Serve with cucumber salad (toss 1 c mixed greens, 1 c cucumber slices, 10 halved cherry tomatoes, ¼ c chopped red onions and 2 Tbsp reduced-fat Italian dressing).

While I have dabbled in gluten and dairy since the detox, I’ve noticed that I have more energy and fewer cravings when I avoid them. Though it doesn’t hurt to hit the reset button every once in a while, diet remains a balance, and making good choices most of the time is the way to get and stay healthy.
Supplementing with psyllium has been shown to be a safe and well-tolerated way to improve control of blood glucose and cholesterol. In a double-blind trial, men with type 2 diabetes who took 5.1 grams of psyllium per day for eight weeks lowered their blood glucose levels by 11 to 19.2%, their total cholesterol by 8.9%, and their LDL (bad) cholesterol by 13%, compared with a placebo. Tuna salad: Mix 3 oz water-packed tuna with 2 stalks chopped celery, 4 chopped green olives, and 1 tsp regular (or1 T reduced-fat mayonnaise). Add 1 Tbsp seasoned rice vinegar, if desired. Scoop tuna onto 2 c mixed dark greens, and top with 1 Tbsp chopped almonds. Serve with 1 oz 100% whole grain crackers.

I’ve seen it thousands and thousands of times. My own dad had diabetes when he was 45, and with some very simple changes to his diet and his exercise, he was able to recover from that in just three months. You can do the same.
Fruits and Sugar. Sugars are included within the total carbohydrate count in the exchange lists. Sugars should not be more than 10% of daily carbohydrates. Each exchange contains about 15 grams of carbohydrates for a total of 60 calories.
Blend a part of the lemon skin and pulp with the lemonade in a blender for further cleansing and laxative effect. (Note: commercially procured lemons may have had their skins dyed with yellow coloring and may have been subjected to poisonous insect sprays—be sure to peel off the outer skin if you cannot get uncolored, organically grown lemons.) The properties in the lemon skin also act as a haemostatic to prevent excess bleeding and to prevent clotting internally should there be any such prevailing condition.
