Protein, protein, protein at every meal — especially breakfast — is the key to balancing blood sugar and insulin and cutting cravings. Start the day with whole farm eggs or a protein shake. I recommend my Whole Food Protein Shake. Use nuts, seeds, eggs, fish, chicken or grass-fed meat for protein at every meal. A serving size is 4-6 ounces or the size of your palm.

Raw juicing: is an excellent method for helping your body to cleanse and detox to remove accumulated toxins and chemicals. And, if you want to magnify the benefits of raw juicing, then, follow a sound nutritional program.
If your goal is weight loss, a detox diet might help you drop a few pounds, but you’ll likely just gain it back. In the end, you haven’t accomplished anything, and it’s certainly not a healthy approach.
There may just be something to that old line, “Beans, beans, the magical fruit.” Of course, you probably know that beans are high in fiber and a good source of protein, but now there are even more reasons to include them in a diabetic diet. In a 2012 study, researchers found that eating about a cup of legumes daily resulted in better blood sugar control (for both blood glucose and A1C) and lower blood pressure.
According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), low-carb diets may help reduce weight in the short term (up to 1 year). However, because these diets tend to include more fat and protein, the ADA recommends that people on these diet plans have their blood lipids, including cholesterol and triglycerides, regularly monitored. Patients who have kidney problems need to be careful about protein consumption, as high-protein diets can worsen this condition.
Most kinds of physical activity can help you take care of your diabetes. Certain activities may be unsafe for some people, such as those with low vision or nerve damage to their feet. Ask your health care team what physical activities are safe for you. Many people choose walking with friends or family members for their activity.

Dandelion root: is one of the two major herbal liver tonics (with milk thistle) that helps to increase both the production and the flow of bile. It also prevents liver congestion by helping to flush out fat deposits.
Choosing foods with low glycemic index scores often has a significant effect on controlling the surge in blood sugar after meals. Many of these foods are also high in fiber and so have heart benefits as well. Substituting low- for high-glycemic index foods may also help with weight control.
Exercise helps decrease body fat and improve insulin sensitivity. People who exercise are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those who do not. However, people with diabetes should never begin an intensive exercise program without consulting a healthcare professional.
Bitter melon helps lower blood glucose levels, and it regulates the body’s use of insulin. Studies show that bitter melon extract can help reduce and manage symptoms of diabetes, including insulin resistance, heart complications, kidney damage, blood vessel damage, eye disorders and hormone irregularities. Every person has a different condition and must respect the inner intelligence of the body. It doesn’t sound as if the savory vegetable drinks you are making are high in sugar, which is generally problematic for both type 1 and 2 diabetics. I added a vegetable broth in the cleansing and renewal drinks that I quite enjoy for its flavor and just how good I feel when I drink it. It is loaded with minerals and would probably go down well for you. Best to you!
Very simply, Type 2 Diabetes develops when your body becomes resistant to insulin, the hormone that controls your blood sugar levels. Your body is then less able to cope with the blood sugar highs you experience when eating food and drink with a high glucose content. But what causes this insulin resistance in the first place? Mostly it is a combination of excess weight, unhealthy eating best diabetes detox and a high acid-forming diet.

No one should take potassium supplements without consulting a doctor. Kidney problems can cause potassium overload, and medications commonly used in diabetes (such as ACE inhibitors or potassium-sparing diuretics) also limit the kidney’s ability to excrete potassium. Patients with diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease) and kidney failure need to restrict dietary potassium, as well as phosphorus. Phosphorus-rich foods that should be avoided include meats, dairy products, beans, whole foods, and nuts. In addition, many processed and fast foods contain high amounts of phosphorus additives.
My good man. Thanks for your insights and commentary. I loved the video and I’ve just taken your Saline wash and I’m going to purchase organic veggies for a 21 day cleanse. Did you say you’d been diagnosed with Type1 or 2? If yes, did you incur any nerve damage. I’ve not been to Dr for any diagnosis but experiencing burning feet sensation for past few weeks. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

• Steel-cut oatmeal has a dense, thick texture. It can take up to 45 minutes to cook, so some people make a batch ahead of time and warm it up for an instant breakfast. These less-processed oats are lower on the glycemic index, which may help control blood sugar.
The dietitian creates a meal plan that accommodates the patient’s weight and needs, as determined by the patient’s record, and makes a special calculation called the carbohydrate to insulin ratio. This ratio determines the number of carbohydrate grams that a patient needs to cover the daily pre-meal insulin needs. Eventually, patients can learn to adjust their insulin doses to their meals.
People with diabetes should avoid products listing more than 5 grams of sugar per serving, and some doctors recommend limiting fruit intake. You can limit your fructose intake by consuming fruits that are relatively lower in fructose (cantaloupe, grapefruit, strawberries, peaches, bananas) and avoiding added sugars such as those in sugar-sweetened beverages. Fructose is metabolized differently than other sugars and can significantly raise triglycerides.
Dietary fat and cholesterol infiltrate the blood and block insulin from making glucose available to cells. As the disorder continues, the pancreas weakens, and production of insulin diminishes until insulin injections may be prescribed.
Diabetes has grown to “epidemic” proportions, and the latest statistics revealed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state that 30.3 million Americans have diabetes, including the 7.2 million people who weren’t even aware of it. Diabetes is affecting people of all ages, including 132,000 children and adolescents younger than 18 years old. (2)
Regardless of the route you go, your number one goal should be to cut added sugars from your diet. That includes most desserts, sugar-sweetened beverages and many processed foods or snacks. In general, men should consume no more than nine teaspoons, or about 36 grams of sugar per day, while women should eat no more than six teaspoons, or about 25 grams, of added sugars per day, according to the American Heart Association. In other words, it’s time to start reading nutrition labels.
Diabetes is the number one cause of blindness in America—elevated sugar in the blood damage the blood vessels around your eye, and can eventually steal your vision. Neuropathy and the potential loss of feet or legs because of nerve damage from high blood sugar is a very real possibility. These aren’t scare tactics—they’re the bodies survival mechanism when blood sugar levels skyrocket.
