Ctinkam – I wasn’t specifically trying to lose weight when I did the detox, I was trying to improve my fasting blood glucose numbers. However, I have heard that many “diets” stop working after 3-4 weeks because your body adapts to your new way of eating and your metabolism slows down. You might want to move to the Basic Plan discussed in the book where you start to slowly reintroduce gluten-free grains, low glycemic fruits, and starchy vegetables. Give your body foods it’s no longer used to processing, then do the more strict detox again. I have no idea if this will work, but it’s what I would try. (Please note I am not a medical professional.) Are you exercising? If you’re doing cardio, you might want to add strength training. If you’re lifting weights, add yoga. Just do something different physically. That should help fire up your metabolism too. Good luck and keep us posted.

From my discussions with others, I think many people go too far and take fruit and berries out of their diet. There’s no reason to go that far. It’s far better to substitute processed sugars for natural sugars in fresh fruit.

It sounds like you are talking about diabetes, which I’ve never had. I had a short bout with prostate cancer, which I got rid of in short order. If you are having a sensation of “burning feet”, that is severe nerve damage or impingement. You’ll need to fix this right away before it results in the loss of use of the limbs. Do you have any hip or knee trouble? Surgeries? Uneven pelvis?

That’s not all. For years oatmeal has had an uber-healthy reputation, and for good reason. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), oats have the highest proportion of soluble fiber than any other grain, which can help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and decrease the risk of heart disease. In addition, oatmeal was the first food the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved for carrying a specific health claim.

So i want to make sure i understand this right before i start, your supposed to pick one of the wake up drinks and have it each morning. On the smoothies are you only supposed to pick one and stick to it for the 3 days or can you mix it up and your supposed to have it twice a day? On the meals are you only to pick two meals for the 3 days and are you only supposed to have one meal a day or two?

“Good” fats. Foods containing monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats can help lower your cholesterol levels. These include avocados, almonds, pecans, walnuts, olives, and canola, olive and peanut oils. But don’t overdo it, as all fats are high in calories.

Amchara will work with you to improve your relationship with food, to a healthier lifestyle, over a sustainable period. Change For Good is our mantra and change that lasts involves some key elements including:

Fat Substitutes. Fat substitutes added to commercial foods or used in baking, deliver some of the desirable qualities of fat but do not add as many calories. They cannot be eaten in unlimited amounts. Fat substitutes include:

Bean tostada: Bake 1 corn tortilla in 400-degree oven until crisp. Spread with ½ c cooked or canned pinto beans (rinsed) and 2 Tbsp shredded reduced-fat Mexican blend cheese. Return to oven for 5 to 10 minutes until cheese melts. Top with ¼ c salsa. Serve with a cabbage salad (1 c shredded cabbage and 1 chopped tomato with 2 Tbsp reduced-fat dressing).

Apple Cider Vinegar can lower blood pressure when consumed daily as it contains acetic acid – a compound known to decrease blood pressure or hypertension. The antihypertensive effects of acetic acid and vinegar were proven in a study published in ‘Bioscience, Biotechnology and Biochemistry’ journal in which the spontaneously hypertensive rats showed significant decrease in blood pressure and rennin activity when given acetic acid or vinegar.

No one should use the glycemic index as a complete dietary guide, since it does not provide nutritional guidelines for all foods. It is simply an indication of how the metabolism will respond to certain carbohydrates.

Alpha lipoic acid is an antioxidant that helps turn glucose into fuel for the body. It effectively improves insulin sensitivity and reduces symptoms of diabetic neuropathy, such as weakness, pain and numbness that’s caused by nerve damage. Although we make alpha lipoic acid and it can be found in some food sources, like broccoli, spinach and tomatoes, taking an ALA supplement will increase the amount that circulates in your body, which can be extremely beneficial when trying to reverse diabetes naturally. I was pleasantly surprised and shocked my body didn’t have a caffeine withdrawal from not having my usual 3 cups of coffee in a day. To be honest I thought I would be sluggish and extremely tired as well, I was NOT!  In fact I even fell asleep each night without trouble (usually I need to take melatonin). I wasn’t hungry during the cleanse and I certainly didn’t crave anything in particular, (I think the lemon water/tea really helped with that), but by the 3rd day I really wanted some meat and potatoes, oh and some popcorn with the kids!I am definitely less bloated and my stomach is flatter which after 3 C-sections….ha! you get the point! I haven’t weighed myself yet but I will later and check back and let you know. Also, I’ve had no stomach digestion issues either. Most likely it is from the small amount of dairy I like to have regularly…… ok ok more like daily and I’m dairy intolerant, shame on me.

Patients with pre-diabetes or diabetes should consult a registered dietician who is knowledgeable about diabetes nutrition. An experienced dietician can provide valuable advice and help create an individualized diet plan.

Fatty liver disease itself usually causes no symptoms. But it raises your risk of developing liver inflammation or scarring (cirrhosis). It’s also linked to an increased risk of liver cancer, heart disease and kidney disease.

Cholesterol. Sources of cholesterol include high-fat dairy products and high-fat animal proteins, egg yolks, liver, and other organ meats. Aim for no more than 200 milligrams (mg) of cholesterol a day.

Artemisia species are aromatic plants exploited for their volatile oil and many of them are used all over the world in traditional medicine in order to treat conditions such as fever, malaria, inflammation, ulcer, diabetes, and intestinal worms. (5) Some impressive hypoglycemic effects have been observed from the wormwood genus of plants. (6)

When it comes to obesity, most people turn to fat, but people should blame flour and sugar. In fact, fat helps to keep your blood glucose levels steady, keeps you feeling full and transports minerals and vitamins throughout the body.

In this case, “detox” doesn’t mean checking into a rehab facility to wean yourself off alcohol. What “detox” refers to, in the dieting world at least, is a dietary detoxification plan. This is best diabetes detox temporary dieting plan (as are most diets) that involves following a regimen (usually pretty extreme) in order to cleanse your body of “toxic” substances such as pesticides, chemicals, additives, pollutants…or food that just isn’t very good for you. Sometimes people “detox” in order to clear their minds, sharpen their focus, or lose weight quickly.

Soy. Soy is an excellent food. It is rich in both soluble and insoluble fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and provides all essential proteins. Soy proteins have more vitamins and minerals than meat or dairy proteins. They also contain polyunsaturated fats, which are better than the saturated fat found in meat. The best sources of soy protein are soy products (such as tofu, soy milk, and soybeans). Soy sauce is not a good source. It contains only a trace amount of soy and is very high in sodium.

The initial problem with PCBs is just how long they can stay in our bodies – 20 to 30 years, and sometimes even longer. They act as endocrine disruptors (8), and they are known triggers of both diabetes and cancers.

There will be times that you are in a bad mood, feel exhausted and/or have a headache. Know that these symptoms are temporary and that, in just a few days, the pain totally will be worth it because you will feel so alive and energetic.

One of the main problems with a diabetic diet is that it is sometimes hard to find foods and beverages that taste good and add nutrients to your diet without adding unnecessary carbohydrates. Use these recipes as a basis for exploring the world of diabetic smoothies.

1. Is there an alternative for the coffee enema? Also the coffee enema beans that you suggested were not available does it matter what brand I replace it with and can I purchase them already grounded?

Research has shown that vitamin supplements have no benefit for heart disease and diabetes. Because of the lack of scientific evidence for benefit, the American Diabetes Association does not recommend regular use of vitamin supplements, except for people who have vitamin deficiencies.

To take advantage of the many health benefits of cinnamon, add one teaspoon to food, smoothies or tea. You can also take one to two drops of cinnamon essential oil internally by adding it to food or tea, or combine three drops of cinnamon oil with half a teaspoon of coconut oil and massage it into your wrists and abdomen.

There’s nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of oatmeal in the morning. Plus, it’s a more nutritious option than many other starchy breakfast foods, such as sugary cereals, sweet rolls, and bagels, according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Also, because of its fiber content (2 grams fiber in a 1/2-cup serving of cooked oatmeal), it gives you more staying power than low-fiber options.
