As a result, your body cannot metabolize and burn fat, making it almost impossible to lose weight, especially the fat in the belly area.

The American Diabetes Association in 1994 recommended that 60–70% of caloric intake should be in the form of carbohydrates. Foods high in chromium: Chromium is a nutrient that’s involved in normal carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. Foods high in chromium can improve the glucose tolerance factor in your body and naturally balance out blood glucose levels. An approach that has been popular with some people with type 1 diabetes mellitus since 2000 is known as DAFNE (Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating).
