Potassium and Phosphorus. Potassium-rich foods, and potassium supplements, can help lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Current guidelines encourage enough dietary potassium to achieve 3,500 mg per day for people with normal or high blood pressure (except those who have risk factors for excess potassium levels, including kidney disease and the use of certain medications). This goal is particularly important in people who have high sodium intake.

If you are pre-diabetic, your condition can go away in 3 days. If you have full-blown diabetes mellitus (type 1 or 2), your condition can be reversed in 7 days. When we think about arsenic, we should be thinking about it as water. Did you know that 10% of municipal water in the United States (9) has been found to be contaminated with arsenic? Many areas might not be in direct danger of contamination, but it is still a danger nonetheless.
I’ve kept the whole eggs in this recipe instead of using an egg substitute or egg whites, as the caloric value difference is only about 5 calories per slice and I find that the yolks are a necessary binding ingredient. If you are concerned with cholesterol (and the recipe as written only has about 20 grams per slice) try it with egg whites or egg substitute (3/4 cup) and let us know how it goes!
Low-Fat Diets. The American Diabetes Association states that low-fat diets can help reduce weight in the short term (up to 1 year). Low-fat diets that are high in fiber, whole grains, legumes, and fresh produce can offer health advantages for blood sugar and cholesterol control.

Juicing can also help diabetics in ways that don’t involve insulin production, regulation, or the body’s metabolism and utilization of glucose. For example, juicing wheatgrass, barley grass or kelp won’t specifically regulate a diabetic’s insulin or improve glucose metabolism, but it can help lower the blood pressure. Thanks so much for posting this and also for your encouragement throughout the cleanse. I followed it closely and I feel great! I was never a coffee drinker and usually only drink green tea. I actually swapped it out for white tea a few times to cut back on caffeine even more. The recipes were great and it gave me a chance to try new foods – yaayy fennel and quinoa! Surprisingly I lost 4 lbs, even though weight loss was not the goal. I think it was good for my metabolism, as it has been so sluggish lately. I was honestly never hungry because I ate a ton of raw veggies and kept hydrated. I definitely feel de-toxed and cleansed! Thanks again!
