Protein, protein, protein at every meal — especially breakfast — is the key to balancing blood sugar and insulin and cutting cravings. Start the day with whole farm eggs or a protein shake. The Master Cleanse is a dangerous fad diet for anyone, but especially bad for diabetics. Burroughs’ advice is medically unsound and very dangerous. Do not change your insulin dose, and never just stop taking insulin — especially while living on a very low-calorie diet of sugar water. The master cleanse is nutrient deficient, and lacks protein, fiber and healthy fat. If you have diabetes and go on the diet, you would experience hypoglycemia, including such symptoms as dizziness, the shakes, anxiety, mood swings, fatigue, headache and hunger.

There’s nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of oatmeal in the morning. Plus, it’s a more nutritious option than many other starchy breakfast foods, such as sugary cereals, sweet rolls, and bagels, according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Also, because of its fiber content (2 grams fiber in a 1/2-cup serving of cooked oatmeal), it gives you more staying power than low-fiber options.
Some people may need more fluids, and some people may need less. Although you can use your thirst as a guide, you may want to consult your health professional about the appropriate fluid intake for you.
In a study carried out at Newcastle University, the research team discovered that Type 2 diabetes can be reversed by an extreme low calorie diet alone. In an early stage clinical trial of 11 people, all 11 reversed their diabetes by drastically cutting their food intake to just 600 calories a day for two months. And three months later, seven remained free of diabetes. Interestingly after just one week, the Newcastle University team found that in all 11 people their pre-breakfast blood sugar levels had returned to normal.
All carbohydrates (either from sugars or starches) will raise blood sugar to a similar degree, although the rate at which blood sugar rises depends on the type of carbohydrate. In general, 1 gram of carbohydrates raises blood sugar by 3 points in people who weigh 200 pounds, 4 points for people who weigh 150 pounds, and 5 points for 100 pounds.
In a nutshell, nuts are one of the healthiest food choices you can make. According to the Mayo Clinic, most nuts contain at least one or more of these heart-healthy substances: unsaturated fats, omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, vitamin E, plant sterols, and L-arginine, which makes artery walls more flexible and less prone to blood clots.
To an extent only, because diabetes type 2 is a chronic and degenerative condition which affects the whole body. Oral medication such as Metformin and Insulin injections help to control blood sugar levels; but it’s not a cure as the condition still progresses, and long term far worse health issues can develop as a result, such as heart attack, kidney failure, high blood pressure, stroke, blindness and neurological problems.

According to the EPA, indoor air is “more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities.” To help exchange and circulate air inside your home, open your windows as often as you can and if you have a mechanical ventilation system, use it regularly and keep it in good working order.
Type 1 diabetes is rarely reversed, but with the right dietary changes major improvements in blood sugar levels can be seen and a person can often reduce his or her dependence on insulin and medications.
During my research, I discovered that after some people with diabetes have started to eat properly and exercise on a consistent basis, they reach a “wall” where they are unable to lower their blood glucose level below a certain point or their blood glucose spikes for no apparent reason.
Alpha lipoic acid, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, B12, Biotin, Coenzyme Q10, Zinc and Fish oil are also very important nutrients in the prevention and treatment of Diabetes so a multivitamin would be helpful.
Fats: Fats are not the enemy. Some are better than other, though. Low polyunsaturated fats are good fats. They raise your good cholesterol (LDL) and encourage your body to use stored body fat as fuel. Try to avoid hydrogenated and trans fats. Fats do not raise your blood sugar.

Taking apple cider vinegar (ACV) has been found to help both type 1 and type 2 diabetics with blood glucose control. A 2004 study found that vinegar helps increase insulin sensitivity. The study followed subjects who drank 40 grams of ACV before meals; their post-meal glucose levels were 34% lower compared to when they didn’t drink the vinegar.
I have cut out all meat, grains, white flour and white sugar and most solid foods. I make green savory drinks that I drink throughout the day and will eat seeds and nuts and drink water. I will make gently diabetic cleanse broth based soups once in a while.
Magnesium-rich foods: Magnesium can help regulate blood sugar levels because it plays a role in glucose metabolism. Research shows that diabetes is frequently associated with magnesium deficiency. Eating magnesium-rich foods, like spinach, chard, pumpkin seeds, almonds, yogurt and black beans, can improve type 2 diabetes symptoms. (11)

2. Fasting is an EXCELLENT idea. You can eat (healthy) after a saline flush. You may juice if you would like. I assume you are talking about the saline flush. You only have to flush once a month. Once every week is ok in the first month IF you suspect your colon is congested (frequent constipation). If not, once a month is fine.

Foods high in chromium can improve the glucose tolerance factor in your body and naturally balance out blood glucose levels.
