Cleansing/detoxification of the kidneys can provide relief from ailments such as high blood pressure, fatigue, urinary tract infections, and kidney stones. The following is a list of the key nutrients that help to cleanse, detoxify and nourish the kidneys.
Some detox plans last a few days, other last may last a few weeks. One of the more popular detox plans is “Master Cleanse.” If you’re a fan of Beyoncé, you might recall that she did the “Master Cleanse” in order to slim down for the film Dreamgirls. “Master Cleanse” consists of drinking at least two liters each day of the following concoction: lemon juice, maple syrup (the real stuff), and cayenne pepper. Oh, and don’t forget the laxative tea and salt water flushes. The premise of this plan, as with many detox plans, is to flush out toxins, clean out your colon, and provide just enough calories (from the maple syrup) so that you don’t pass out.

I only mean the non-starchy veggies such as greens, the broccoli family (cauliflower, kale, collards, etc.), asparagus, green beans, mushrooms, onions, zucchini, tomatoes, fennel, eggplant, artichokes, peppers, etc. What’s out are potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squash and beets — just for 10 days. Also skip grains and beans for 10 days. It supercharges the results so you lose weight and feel great.
Some Soba noodles are gluten-free (check package). They are made from buckwheat and metabolize much more slowly than most carbohydrates, which makes them ideal for diabetics and health-conscious individuals. You can pick them up at your local japanese market or health food store.

What’s more, other research indicates that healthy habits can take up to six weeks to become ingrained—and that treating yourself to small rewards can help motivate you to stick with those positive changes.
The serving-size guideline for seafood is the same for meat and poultry: 3 ounces. Even though fish might be more expensive than other protein sources, preparing it at home rather than ordering it in a restaurant keeps the cost down.
There are two indices in use. One uses a scale of 1 – 100 with 100 representing a glucose tablet, which has the most rapid effect on blood sugar. [See Table: “The Glycemic Index of Some Foods,” below.] The other common index uses a scale with 100 representing white bread (so some foods will be above 100).
According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), low-carb diets may help reduce weight in the short term (up to 1 year). However, because these diets tend to include more fat and protein, the ADA recommends that people on these diet plans have their blood lipids, including cholesterol and triglycerides, regularly monitored. Patients who have kidney problems need to be careful about protein consumption, as high-protein diets can worsen this condition.

Drinking as little as two or three cups of fresh vegetable juice every day can help diabetics, as long as juicing is part of an overall diet that’s nutritious and healthy. Of course, the right types of produce must be juiced in order for a person with diabetes to see any benefits. For example, you may have noticed that we haven’t mentioned juicing any fruits as a way to improve diabetes.
You never want to be in a food emergency when your blood sugar is dropping and you find yourself in a food desert such as an airport, the office, or in a maze of convenience stores, fast food joints and vending machines. You need an Emergency Life Pak. I have one with me all the time, filled with protein, good fats, and good snacks so I never have to make a bad choice. Here’s what’s in mine. Fiber-rich foods. Dietary fiber includes all parts of plant foods that your body can’t digest or absorb. Fiber moderates how your body digests and helps control blood sugar levels. Foods high in fiber include vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes (beans, peas and lentils), whole-wheat flour and wheat bran.

Very simply, Type 2 Diabetes develops when your body becomes resistant to insulin, the hormone that controls your blood sugar levels. Your body is then less able to cope with the blood sugar highs you experience when eating food and drink with a high glucose content. But what causes this insulin resistance in the first place? Mostly it is a combination of excess weight, unhealthy eating habits, and a high acid-forming diet.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage: helps with detoxification and clearing of metabolic waste from the body. Most lymph nodes can be found between skeletal muscles. diabetes detox means that when the muscles move, they create a pumping action, and that is how the lymph fluid moves throughout the body. Lymphatic drainage massage uses key pressure points to make muscles work in a specific manner, or work harder than they typically would, to increase the flow of lymph fluid through the body.
