The high levels of glucose in the blood and the accumulation of acids in the kidneys cause the formation of kidney stones and ultimately cause kidney cells to die. Because kidney cells cannot be regenerated or repaired, the remaining cells have to work that much harder to filter substances from the blood.
The two major forms of diabetes are type 1, previously called insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) or juvenile-onset diabetes, and type 2, previously called non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) or maturity-onset diabetes.
Expected symptoms: for first-timer, you might experience the urge to eat in the 2nd and 3rd days. You can have a dietary fibre drink to suppress the urge. Some might feel cold or even shivering, as the blood glucose is depleted and the mechanism of energy production starts to switch from carbohydrate-burning to fat-burning. Spirulina (in powder – or tablet-form should come in handy to stabilize the blood sugar level to cushion off the effect. Exercise moderately to produce sweat is recommended. SPA and Sauna can be used to this effect. This is normal to feel slight dizziness, headache, aching here and there, and also fever. Please ensure you have sufficient water intake.
There is a reason why people who are under stress usually eat junk food. You should know that stress raises the cortisol level, which stimulates fat storage and causes hunger. However, de-stressing can reverse the whole process above mentioned.
In order to help with the filtering process, the heart increases the flow of blood plasma to the kidneys, which in turn elevates blood pressure. As the kidney cells continue to die, the risk of kidney failure increases dramatically.
Unfortunately, our response to this is usually a drug, such as a laxative, to “force” the elimination of the fecal waste. But many of the other toxins are left behind and reabsorbed into the bloodstream attacking the tissues and organs, and producing their own pathogenic bacteria that attack the body’s weakest points.
What is unique about quinoa is not so much its protein content (3 grams in every 1/3-cup serving), but its protein composition. It contains all nine essential amino acids (amino acids the body cannot make), making it a complete protein. “With 13 grams of carbs per serving, it also contributes folate, magnesium, manganese, iron, and vitamin B6 to your diet. It has 2 grams of fiber, and it is very low in sodium,” Crawley says. Like other whole grain, high-fiber foods, quinoa can help prevent blood sugar spikes and stave off hunger.
Fenugreek seeds are high in soluble fiber, which helps lower blood sugar by slowing down carbohydrate digestion and absorption. Research suggests that fenugreek may also contain a substance that stimulates insulin production and improves blood sugar control. One study concluded that 4-hydroxyisoleucine insulinotropic (insulin stimulating) activity might, at least in part, account for fenugreek seeds’ anti-diabetic properties. (15)

Drinking as little as two or three cups of fresh vegetable juice every day can help diabetics, as long as juicing is part of an overall diet that’s nutritious and healthy. Of course, the right types of produce must be juiced in order for a person with diabetes to see any benefits. For example, you may have noticed that we haven’t mentioned juicing any fruits as a way to improve diabetes.
Key Insight: When it comes to reversing type 2 diabetes, we need to keep in mind how important a role hydration is going to play. If we can find arsenic in municipal waters, we should be using a purifying system (like reverse osmosis) alongside reusable containers to help give our bodies what they need all of the time.
Supplementing with psyllium has been shown to be a safe and well-tolerated way to improve control of blood glucose and cholesterol. In a double-blind trial, men with type 2 diabetes who took 5.1 grams of psyllium per day for eight weeks lowered their blood glucose levels by 11 to 19.2%, their total cholesterol by 8.9%, and their LDL (bad) cholesterol by 13%, compared with a placebo. Avocados are known for their heart-healthy monounsaturated fat content. When substituting these fats for saturated fat, they can improve cholesterol levels, decreasing your risk of heart disease, according to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
As with any change in diet, it is recommended that before beginning the cleanse & detox you check with your doctor. If you are allergic to any ingredients do not include them in your cleanse. You may use an alternative.
A recent study I read talked about the positioning of children in areas of high-pollution, and that they were chemically predisposed to contracting diabetes due to the air around them (1). This is shocking stuff, because it takes what we thought of as the cause of diabetes and basically turns it on its head. It’s no longer simply about what’s going on in our bodies, but the factors outside our bodies as well.
As for the rest of your meals, make sure they are full of protein (eggs, cage-free organic chicken/turkey), healthy fats (nuts, avocado, fish oils), and natural sugars (fruits and carrots). Nothing out of a bag, even if it does say sugar-free, fat-free, diet, organic, or all-natural. All foods should be raw or very lightly cooked. No carbs for the first 60 days. If you “slip up”, make sure it’s very small. Sugars spur all disease to a more dangerous level (IE Stage-1 cancer become Stage-2, disease symptoms begin to show, or chronic conditions don’t want to go away [daily migraines]).
Eating the right amount of food will also help you manage your blood glucose level and your weight. Your health care team can help you figure out how much food and how many calories you should eat each day. Look up how many calories are in what you eat and drink at the USDA’s Food-A-Pedia.
You can certainly do any smoothie each morning but for shopping sake I suggested just to pick one and do that for 3 days but have one of each if you like. It’s recommend to have two green smoothies a day and one of the meals but if that doesn’t seem like enough food then have two meals and 2 smoothies a day. Again as far as the meals you can do whichever you like but they make more than one serving so you will not need to make all those recipe choices. I just wanted to give everyone variety. I’m planning on having 2 green smoothies to replace breakfast and lunch then one serving at dinner of either the veggie soup or the veggie quinoa salad.
Doing a 10 step diabetes detox detox might seem extreme to some people and difficult to others. But even research says that we need to get flour and sugar out of our diet forever. You need to begin with baby steps. The first step is always the hardest, right?

Cleansing of the pancreas supports the production and rebalancing of insulin and glucagon; and, proper functioning of the alpha and beta cells. Most diabetes programs fail to mention anything about cleanse and detox, but, to make matters worse, most diabetes programs fail to mention the importance of detoxing the pancreas.
I’ve kept the whole eggs in this recipe instead of using an egg substitute or egg whites, as the caloric value difference is only about 5 calories per slice and I find that the yolks are a necessary binding ingredient. If you are concerned with cholesterol (and the recipe as written only has about 20 grams per slice) try it with egg whites or egg substitute (3/4 cup) and let us know how it goes!
