I know that one day I will be able to gradually add more solid plant based foods to my diet but for now as I allow my body to heal (and it is healing) I need to honor it by consuming mild liquid vegtable green drinks. I also take vitamins and herbs.

Moderate-to-high intensity (not high-impact) exercises are best for people who are cleared by their doctors. Eating carbohydrate-containing foods temporarily raises blood sugar and insulin levels. The blood sugar-raising effect of a food, called its “glycemic index,” depends on how rapidly its carbohydrate is absorbed. Many starchy foods have a glycaemic index similar to table sugar (sucrose) and those eating large amounts of foods with high glycaemic indexes are at an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. On the other hand, eating a diet high in carbohydrate-rich foods with low glycaemic indexes (eg. beans, peas, fruit and oats) is associated with a low risk of diabetes type 2. The rise in blood glucose levels signals important cells in the pancreas, called beta cells, to secrete insulin, which pours into the bloodstream. Within 10 minutes after a meal insulin rises to its peak level.
The diabetic exchanges are six different lists of foods grouped according to similar calorie, carbohydrate, protein, and fat content; these are starch/bread, meat, vegetables, fruit, milk, and fat. A person is allowed a certain number of exchange choices from each food list per day.
Diabetics with chronic constipation tend to show higher blood sugar levels, so colon cleansing can help maintain levels. Diabetics either do not produce insulin or the cells in their bodies do not respond to it. Diabetics do produce glucagons, which can keep their blood sugars unstable. Bulky foods or large quantities of meat and starchy foods trigger this process, because they do not pass through the intestines quickly. Keeping the colon clear can help to stabilize the blood sugars.
