You are also going to want to avoid alcohol. Wine, for instance, is especially high in arsenic. Older wines, in particular, are going to be higher in arsenic – they might be better when you ask a wine expert, but they are definitely not better for our health.
To stave off common detox reactions such as headache and nausea, try phasing out caffeine, sugar, processed foods, and artificial sweeteners in the days leading up to your detox diet. If you’re not ready to give up caffeine altogether, switch to lower-caffeine drinks like green tea, white tea, or matcha.

While sugar may play a necessary role in some baked goods because of chemical reactions that result in the proper texture, rising, et cetera, quick breads are a wonderful category of sweets for which the complete substitution of a low-calorie sweetener such as Splenda is not only completely acceptable from a baking standpoint, but for taste as well.
Meat and Cheese. The exchange groups for meat and cheese are categorized by lean meat and low-fat substitutes, medium-fat meat and substitutes, and high-fat meat and substitutes. Use high-fat exchanges a maximum of 3 times a week. Fat should be removed before cooking. Exchange sizes on the meat list are generally 1 ounce and based on cooked meats (3 ounces of cooked meat equals 4 ounces of raw meat).

Yogurt is a sweet treat that is creamy, delicious, and good for you. It’s an excellent source of calcium, which helps promote healthy bones and teeth, as well as good muscle and blood vessel function. It is also a good source of vitamin B2 (riboflavin) and protein.
Data of one study suggests that ginger and garlic are insulinotropic (9) rather than hypoglycemic while overall anti-diabetic effects of ginger are better than those of garlic, at least in this experimental condition. Gymnema is known to stimulate the pancreas to produce insulin in people with type 2 diabetes. It also improves the ability of insulin to lower blood sugar in people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Gymnema is not a substitute for insulin but insulin amounts may need to be lowered while taking gymnema to avoid hypoglycaemia.
Sugar alcohols (which include xylitol, mannitol, and sorbitol) are often used in “sugar-free” products, such as cookies, hard candies, and chewing gum. Sugar alcohols can slightly increase blood sugar levels. The American Diabetes Association recommends against consuming large amounts of sugar alcohol as it can cause gas and diarrhea, especially in children.
Once your health becomes more balanced you may be able to reduce this to three hours a week. It is important to undertake a combination of cardiovascular activity, strength training and stretching. For people with high blood sugar the combination of aerobics and strength exercises is more powerful than either one alone.
