First i would like to say thank you so much for this information. I stumbled across your videos looking on how to heal my PCOS and Diabetes. My endocrinologist practices integrative medicine. She does not want me to end up on insulin and then suggested surgery for a stomach sleeve -_- which I thought was unnecessary. I currently am on four different medications(Tradjenta, Metformin, Birth Control and Glimeperide) at the age of 26. She has included ALAmax Protect and Vitamin D as natural supplements to help me. I’ve added moderate activity and I’ve changed my diet to reflect no processed carbs/sugars. I still eat dairy however and after watching your video I know I need to leave it alone for a while (I love cheese!). I haven’t noticed huge changes and I’m thinking that all the medication I’ve been putting in my body for the last few years is not helping.

It has really helped me to get to a place I have been aiming for…I am just finishing up this detox/ cleanse and wanted to give some feed back. First, I loved the ease of the menu items. I have come to realize that eating right takes time and thought. You have to be prepared. So I made a shopping list and actually sent my hubby to the store! I love the morning tea. I have only recently started drinking tea and have acquired an affinity for the green tea with jasmine. The lemon adds a little zing that I enjoy just that much more! I made the soup first and then the quinoa salad with balsamic dressing. Both were better than I could have hoped for. I did not experience hunger pangs or cravings that first day and was super excited to hit the gym and still be going strong by the time I picked the kids up from school around 4 pm. I usually want a nap from 2-4 pm. I have been reading others’ posts and it seems I am an anomaly in that the first night I experienced a pretty significant bout of insomnia. I finally fell into a fitful rest around 4 am. Tried a different smoothie the second day and it too is something I will use over and over again. The lack of sleep didn’t seem to affect me all that much throughout the day and into the evening. I didn’t have as much trouble falling asleep but could have easily stayed up later. And today, here it is almost 11pm and I am still up…heading to bed shortly though. I feel great and wanted to thank you again! I am actually thinking about staying away from gluten and meat and most dairy for a bit longer. Blessing to you and your family for a fantastic 2013!
It is easier for your body to absorb lycopene from cooked and processed tomatoes, such as tomato juice, than from fresh tomatoes. Also, canned products such as tomato paste, tomato sauce, and pasta sauce have approximately seven times more lycopene than raw tomatoes. Adding a bit of oil while sauteing or cooking tomatoes can aid lycopene absorption, according to Health Gourmet: Eat to Beat Diabetes (McGraw-Hill, 2006).
How will we eat going forward? Our plan is to stick to the guidelines for a couple of months, then start adding in some of the “forbidden” foods to see how they affect us. We feel so good at the moment and we’ve had such success we don’t want to change anything!
