Losing weight can improve your body’s sensitivity to insulin, helping to ease symptoms of Type 2 diabetes. But weight lost on the master cleanse is mostly water weight, and will be quickly regained when you start to eat normally again. The master cleanse does not teach you how to eat a healthy balanced diet, does not encourage exercise and is not a sustainable way of life. Although maintaining a healthy body weight can reduce your risk of other serious health problems, making long-term healthy lifestyle changes is a safer way to reach your goal weight. Pasta with meatballs: Toss 1 c cooked whole grain pasta in garlic and 1 Tbsp olive oil and garlic. Top with 3-oz lean meat balls (made with turkey, chicken or soy) and 1 tsp grated Parmesan cheese. Serve with cucumber salad (toss 1 c mixed greens, 1 c cucumber slices, 10 halved cherry tomatoes, ¼ c chopped red onions and 2 Tbsp reduced-fat Italian dressing).
Thanks so much for posting this and also for your encouragement throughout the cleanse. I followed it closely and I feel great! I was never a coffee drinker and usually only drink green tea. I actually swapped it out for white tea a few times to cut back on caffeine even more. The recipes were great and it gave me a chance to try new foods – yaayy fennel and quinoa! Surprisingly I lost 4 lbs, even though weight loss was not the goal. I think it was good for my metabolism, as it has been so sluggish lately. I was honestly never hungry because I ate a ton of raw veggies and kept hydrated. I definitely feel de-toxed and cleansed! Thanks again!
