For the vegetarian detox diet, you just have to get rid of those vegetables that have high levels of carbohydrates including legumes, potatoes, and white pasta. Among the vegetables that you can include in your diet are broccoli, spinach, kale, and other dark, leafy vegetables as well as whole grains, eggs, nuts, and tofu as they contain only minimal amount of carbohydrates.

Clean protein: Eating protein foods has a minimal effect on your blood glucose levels, and it can slow down the absorption of sugar. Some of the best sources of clean protein include wild-caught fish, which contains omega-3 fats that reduce inflammation, grass-fed beef, organic chicken, lentils, eggs and bone broth.
Achieve reasonable weight. Overweight patients with type 2 diabetes who are not taking medication should aim for a diet that controls both weight and glucose. A reasonable weight is usually defined as what is achievable and sustainable, and helps achieve normal blood glucose levels. Children, pregnant women, and people recovering from illness should be sure to maintain adequate calories for health.
Other foods: that help to cleanse the liver include apples, avocados, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, grapefruit, and spinach. But, if you’re diabetic, you should avoid or limit your intake of beets and carrots.

Juice Fasts: consist of consuming only freshly juiced fruits and vegetables for one to three days, or longer. However, citrus fruits should be avoided while fasting. Also, if you’re diabetic, you should avoid juice fasting until your blood glucose has stabilized. Organic fruits and vegetables are best.
Probiotic strains found in kimchi, for example, have been shown to assist in breaking down various pesticides that work their way into the body through food and air. Lactobacillus bacteria, another probiotic strain, contain properties that allow them to bind to heavy metals without damage to their cells, and can help prevent damage to the body that would stem from those materials.
GMO foods: GMO corn, soy and canola have been linked to kidney and liver disease and may promote diabetes. I suggest removing all GMO foods and all packaged foods from your diet. Opt for products that are labeled organic or GMO-free.

Because physical activity lowers your blood glucose, you should protect yourself against low blood glucose levels, also called hypoglycemia. You are most likely to have hypoglycemia if you take insulin or certain other diabetes medicines, such as a sulfonylurea. Barley/wheat grass, dandelion root, wormwood: contain nutrients that increase bile and help to clean the liver and bile ducts to allow excess cholesterol to leave the body. They help to flush fat deposits from the liver and prevent the formation of gallstones.
Meat and Cheese. The exchange groups for meat and cheese are categorized by lean meat and low-fat substitutes, medium-fat meat and substitutes, and high-fat meat and substitutes. Use high-fat exchanges a maximum of 3 times a week. Fat should be removed before cooking. Losing weight can improve your body’s sensitivity to insulin, helping to ease symptoms of Type 2 diabetes. But weight lost on the master cleanse is mostly water weight, and will be quickly regained when you start to eat normally again.
